Multi Skilled Engineer

Location: Gateshead
Salary: £52,500 per annum
Hours: 4 on 4 off – 6am–6pm and 6pm–6am (rotating shifts)

We’re on the lookout for a talented Multi Skilled Engineer to join a leading manufacturer based in Gateshead.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out engineering tasks in line with PPM schedules and targets

• Respond promptly to breakdowns and prioritise repair work effectively

• Monitor machine performance and support improvements in efficiency

• Work closely with planning teams to coordinate machine availability

• Provide technical support to production teams where required

• Support external contractors on site as needed

• Ensure all documentation and sign-offs are completed accurately

• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety at all times

About You:

• Time-served engineer with relevant qualifications (NVQ, HNC or equivalent)

• Confident in both electrical and mechanical fault finding

• Able to safely isolate, access and work within control panels

• Experienced in a fast-paced FMCG or manufacturing environment

• Able to fully strip, reassemble and adjust production machinery

• PC literate and comfortable using maintenance systems

• Proactive, reliable and team-oriented with a hands-on approach
