Mechanical Engineer

Location: Bolton
Salary: £41,000 per annum
Hours: Weekly rotation – 6am-2:30pm | 1:30pm-10pm | 10pm-6:30am (1 in 4 Saturdays)

My client is one of the largest FMCG Manufacturers in Bolton and they have a fantastic opportunity for you to join their Engineering Team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out planned maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs to minimise downtime.
• Maintain and optimise bakery production machinery, packaging equipment, and site services.
• Ensure all work meets high Engineering, Quality, Safety, and Hygiene standards.
• Respond quickly to breakdowns and implement improvements to enhance performance.
• Work closely with the production team to ensure smooth-running operations.
• Provide detailed handovers for incoming shifts.
• Stay up to date with training and advancements in mechanical engineering.

About You:

✔ ONC Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
✔ Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing or FMCG environment.
✔ Strong problem-solving skills and a hands-on approach.
✔ Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH (desirable but not essential).
✔ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
